LOS ANGELES (February 10, 2025) – Buffalo 8 has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to Sugarcane, a gripping horror-thriller written and directed by Pat Baker of Postmortem Films in collaboration with MauHaus Productions. The film stars Josie Juliette-Wert, Kellan Jackson, Lacey Caroline, and Michael Mau.

Sugarcane follows Mari, a trafficking survivor determined to track down a teenage girl named Phoebe, who has been abducted by a sadistic serial killer. As the clock ticks and Phoebe’s fate grows increasingly grim, Mari, with the help of an old friend, uncovers a sinister website linked to the kidnapping, forcing her to confront her own harrowing past in a desperate bid to save Phoebe before time runs out.

The film was produced by Pat Baker, Darryl Postley Jr., Jillian Bricker, and Michael Mau. Buffalo 8 founders Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor serve as Executive Producers, with the acquisition deal arranged by Buffalo 8’s Head of Distribution, Nikki Stier Justice.

Sugarcane will be available worldwide through Buffalo 8, with release details to be announced.
